Wateresque Stamped Gradient Nails

Is it Spring yet? Close enough as far as I am concerned. I am really sick of gloomy days and needed a mani to help counteract the drearies. Somehow they ended up looking like Summer nails, like I need to go to the beach or the pool!

I started off with a light blue base, Color Club – In De-Nile. I am so happy with this polish, it is the best light-blue I have found. Usually, this kind of color tends toward streaking or being too goopy but color Club nailed it. This is opaque in pretty much one coat, but probably two just to guarantee complete coverage. So, I did one coat because I knew I would be sponging over the top anyway.

Using a non-latex makeup sponge, I put on In De-Nile and Color Club – New Bohemian. It took 3 passes to get the level of color I wanted from New Bohemian, but the result was a smooth gradient that goes from light blue to a light blue-green. I applied one coat of Seche Vite to blend and aid with drying time.

I stamped over all of my nails with MoYou London Sailor – 06 and Funky Fingers – Gesso (My go-to white stamping polish) and topped with one last coat of Seche Vite.

  • Essie – Grow Stronger Base Coat
  • Color Club – In De-Nile
  • Color Club – New Bohemian
  • Seche Vite – Dry Fast Top Coat
  • MoYou London Sailor – 06

I love how these turned out, but they felt really out of place lol. Bring on the warmer weather already!
