You may or may not have noticed that I went on hiatus for the summer. Sorry about the lack of notice – it wasn’t something I had planned on, but between my daughter being home for summer break and adopting a new puppy to house train, play with and cuddle, I decided to put my nails on the back burner.
Mermaid Scale Nail Sticker Review and Nail Art
Nail vinyls and stickers have become one of the major tools of the trade for doing manis. I’ve tried vinyls from quite a few brands and always enjoy using them, so I was excited to get to review some really fun mermaid scale stickers from Born Pretty Store.
Halloween Mani Roundup #2
It’s been a long time coming for an update and it’s a post I meant to do weeks ago. I strained my right wrist at the end of October that put a moratorium on general activities like typing, cleaning and worst of all, nail-related activities. I’m completely mended now, thankfully, so I want to start off with playing catch-up – I know most people are ready to be over Halloween, so bear with me 🙂
#mommysmanimonday: Polish Roulette
I always love our #mommymanimonday themes but this one was a bit tricky. Our mission was two choose two random polishes from our stash and make those polishes work together. I generally have a really good idea where each of my polishes are at though, so it was difficult to pick out two without knowing what I was getting!
#mommysmanimonday: Matte & Shiny
I was so busy doing my swatching posts that I completely forgot to update with my manicures along the way! The prompt for my #mommysmanimonday group a couple of weeks ago was Matte & Shiny. I had big plans for this mani. Huge!
OPI Infinite Shine Graphic Geometric Cutouts
I had been wanting to try the new OPI Infinite Shine polishes, so in a recent Sally’s moment of weakness, I picked up this gorgeous Blue/Sage color called Withstands the Test of Thyme. the color is soooo right up my alley!
Bold Chevrons with Turquoise Accents
I’ve been loving dark colors lately, but every once in a while, I know I need a big change, just to recharge. I realized it has been a while since I had done any chevron manicures, so I set out to remedy that!
Nautical Nails in Blue and Gold
I posted about Big Smoke on its’ own inmy previous post. I wore it for a day without any embellishment, because I didn’t really know what I wanted to do with it. Then I saw a mani by @dancerspolishedlife using an anchor cutout and remembered I had some anchor vinyls! Blue always lends itself well to nautical nails, so I went with it!
Simple Cutout Mani Using Revlon Matte Pearl Glaze
Over the past couple of weeks, I had been seeing talk about Revlon – Holographic Pearls, a lovely scattered holo topcoat. When I found myself at Walgreens the other night, I looked for and found it along with a few other new top coat effects. I spotted Matte Pearl Glaze and decided to go ahead and pick it up since Walgreens was running a B1G1 Half off. When I got home and swatched it on a stick, I decided I wanted it on my nails right away!
Valentine Nails: Gradient Chevron Dotticure
It had been a while since I had done any chevrons and it is one of my favorite looks for my nails, so I decided it was a good time to pull out my old stand by. I put a little spin on it by making the chevron accent nails a gradient and I love how this mani turned out!
