I’m still doing some submission manis for Nail It and obviously, I cannot resist the holographic prompt. I wanted to try doing something a bit out of the ordinary, so this mani features a lot of layering – with holo being the main attraction.
I love the Color Club holographic polishes. I mean, I am a big fan of their polish in general, but their holographic polishes are masterpieces. They are practically one-coat polishes, they water marble and stamp and they have that huge holo payoff. It’s hardly a wonder that when I went bling on my fingers, their holo polishes are the first place I turn to!
Don’t you just love it when you have a look in your mind and it comes out better than you even expected? That’s exactly how I feel about this gradient!
In my recent polish swap, I was sent Essie – Shine of the Times, a gorgeous flakie polish. I had been looking for a way to use it in a new way and ended up trying something I wouldn’t normally do: I added it as a topper over an already brilliant polish, Color Club – Eternal Beauty.
I love when I have a polish on my lust list and when I finally get it – it is everything I wanted and more! I’d had my eye on Fall Semester since it was released and was pleasantly surprised (maybe thrilled!) to receive it during a Christmas polish swap.
Have I mentioned how much I love doing gradients? If not, I need to. I love them. I adore them! I think it is one of the very best ways to adorn my nails. You can do sharply contrasting colors for a vivid effect or more subtle colors if you want something lower-key or even work appropriate. Today’s manicure is of the second variety – until you get into the sun!
