I’m still doing some submission manis for Nail It and obviously, I cannot resist the holographic prompt. I wanted to try doing something a bit out of the ordinary, so this mani features a lot of layering – with holo being the main attraction.
I recently took advantage of the China Glaze sale at Sally’s to pick up a few polishes, including a couple of the duochrome polish I wanted to help fill out my current collection. I knew they could be marbled with because I’d done a few experimental things months and months ago, so decided to dive in and do a full chrome water marble!
Last year, I did a green and black manicure using a green duochrome polish. One of the nails had green duochrom dots on a black background and I absolutely loved how the duochrom polish popped against the back. I’d been toying with the idea of hand-painting with colorshifters for a while and went ahead and tried it today!
I have a number of polishes that I consider “must-haves”. Polishes that flesh out my collection and fill essential spots in color, formula or effect. Over the next couple of months I plan to post reviews and swatches of them because I really feel these polishes are beyond worth it! The first in this series is called Pigment of my Imagination by indie polish brand KBShimmer.
