I’ve had a number of water slide decals sitting around for ages and for some reason had never used them. I’m kind of determined to tackle an overgrowth of untried polishes as well as untried techniques this year so I dove right in with this cute mani!
Sometimes I have a bit of a roadblock about what kind of nail art to do over non-creme polishes. I tend to want to leave them as-is to not hide how pretty they are. I’m always pretty proud of myself when I do some art and end up really happy with it!
My theme this week for my Mommy’s mani group was Floral – aside from dots, one of my very favorite things to do. I took the opportunity to get some freehand practice in. I was originally planning a springy theme, but when everything came together and I had picked my colors, it was decidedly summery looking.
This mani came about when I was trying out some different dotting ideas. I was going to little paisleys made of dots as I am trying to perfect a technique for bandana nails!
After a handful of bright, colorful manis, I was ready to do something a bit more stark and simple. I decided on black and white and my nail art of choice: polkadots! Simple colors or design choice doesn’t have to equal a boring or bland mani though!
I was determined to design a cute bunny for Easter nails! Unsurprisingly, I had to try several different ideas out before I made a bunny I was happy with and I ended up really loving how this mani came out and it was totally easy to do!
Ever had a great idea for a mani and everything seems to be coming together perfectly and then you are almost done and you notice a fatal flaw? Enter todays nails.
I have to admit, I just was not feeling very keen on green and had a hard time deciding what to do for this mani. It’s a bit of a mixed bag, but I think the final result ended up looking pretty satisfactory!
I haven’t done a BHB Thursday challenge in a long (long!) time, however, when the prompt was announced to be hand-painted roses, I knew I had to get in on it, since I love rose manicures.
