Swatch: Sinful Colors / Sinful Shine Prosecco

Have you heard about Prosecco? If you haven’t don’t be surprised, this one can be hard to find! It’s part of the Sinful Shine Shining Bright Off the Runway collection and good luck finding a store that is stocking them. The problem as far as I could tell is that not all Walgreens (the only store near me who carries the Sinful Shine line) are carrying Sinful Shine anymore. I had to visit 5 different Walgreen locations before I found one that had a Sinful Shine display . Luckily, I finally got my hands on this pretty!

Prosecco is a gorgeous greige (gray/beige) color with golden shimmer. It has the standard high-gloss finish the Shine line is known for, so you don’t have to use a top coat with this one (however, it is recommended, more on that below). If you aren’t familiar with the Sinful Shine polish line, they all have a very glossy finish when dried. The bottles have a silver top instead of the black top found on regular Sinful Colors polishes.

The polish has a crelly base.  If you are familiar with Sinful Colors – Cinderella, it is a very similar polish (but this has a much better formula!)

The formula for this polish is quite nice! Each coat went on smoothly, no fight involved. The first coat is very sheer, but this builds nicely. I applied 3 thin coats to achieve full opacity – you could probably get away with 2 medium coats. I did end up applying a coat of Seche Vite on top, just to speed up drying time, so if you do more than two coats, I do recommend adding a quick dry top coat to this just to save time – but the glossiness pre-topcoat (pictured above) is quite nice.

My pictures really don’t do the shimmer in this polish any justice! This would be a good polish for work – while still having a bit of bling out in the sun.

Overall, I am very happy with this polish and I am glad I finally found it! If I had one complaint about Prosecco it is that I wish it wasn’t so hard to find. I love the Sinful Shine line and I think it is a shame that it’s carried on such a limited basis in my area. If you love neutral colors, this is a great polish to add to your collection at a very reasonable $1.99, you don’t have to break the bank either!
