My local Walgreens sucks for Sinful Colors. They hardly get any of the small collection displays, which makes it pretty frustrating when I am trying to get my grubby paws on new polish. I finally found a couple of the displays (Love Bites and Live in Color) after some searching, but ended up being pretty underwhelmed by the new colors. The Love Bites display only had one new polish, but there were a couple of pinks I didn’t have. I only picked up one color from the Live in Color selection, since I found them a bit underwhelming.
First, we can look at my picks from the Love Bites collection:
Pink Smart is a pale pink creme with a hint of a peachy lean to it. The formula was a little on the thick side, but the color was really lovely. Shown below at two coats topped with Seche Vite.
Love Bombs is a pretty glitter bomb topcoat and the only new polish for Valentine’s Day this year. I really like this one because not only does it have a lot of glitter, it is also loaded with lavender iridescent shimmer. The glitter is largely pink and magenta with tiny silver microglitter. See all those lovely blue hearts? Yeah, me neither. They are all over the cute label, but I kid you not, I didn’t even realize that it had hearts in it until I got home. There are probably 4 in my entire bottle – I managed to fish one out somehow. Shown below at one coat over Pink Smart and topped with Seche Vite.
Feeling Great is a gorgeous dark, rosy pink shade of polish with a wonderful, smooth formula. This was a real joy to apply and the color is saturated but still manages to have a softness to it that I really like. Shown with two coats and topped with Seche Vite:
Gold n’ Roses
Gold n’ Roses is the one polish I picked from the Live in Color display. According to the Sinful Colors website, this is a a Walgreen’s exclusive. Under store lighting, I really thought this looked more pink than rose gold, but once I had it home and on my nails with better lighting, it looked much better. I was intrigued by this one because not only is it a metallic shimmer, but it is also loaded with micro-flakies that add a ton of dimension to the polish – click on the second picture to get a better look at them. This one had an easy formula and was fully opaque in two coats. Shown topped with Seche Vite:
Overall, I really like the polishes I picked, but I am making a resolution to not buy any more glitter toppers. I love them in the bottle, but I so rarely use them that I find myself just chunking them into my destash. They always look so pretty and appealing in the bottle though. I need help.
Gold n’ Roses is really pretty and I loved the color and formula of Feeling Great. Pick those up if you can locate them! I’ll have some Valentine nail art up on my IG tonight featuring Feeling Great, so keep an eye out!
