I don’t often use charms on my nails, but I simply couldn’t resist these adorable little starfish charms from LadyQueen.com. Check out my review and and the mani I created with them after the break!
I’ve been wanting to get some charms like this for a long time, because I always love seeing them in water/mermaid style manis. I chose the gold ones and I absolutely love them!

Each starfish is 5mm across and they come in packs of 10. I was able to remove them and clean them when I took off the mani, so I can re-use them again.
For my mani, I started off by putting on a latex barrier and then sponging on China Glaze – I Soiree I Didn’t Do It to my pointer and pinky nails. It took about 3 passes to reach full opacity. I topped those nails off with Seche Vite – one coat was enough to smooth them out (since I am not a fan of textured nails). I painted two coats of KBShimmer – In Bare Form on my middle and ring finger nails. It’s a perfectly gorgeous nude holo that always reminds me of sandy beaches, so it was the perfect base for my gradient.

To create the gradient, I used a non-latex makeup sponge and applied Tropez Super Pearl – Aqua Pearl, Sinful Colors – Prized Plume and In Bare Form and sponged the colors onto my nails. It took 3 passes to get the opacity I wanted. I topcoated one nail at a time with Seche Vite and used a pair of tweezers to apply the gems, then did the same on the other nail.

I love these charms and really like how the mani turned out. It definitely makes me want to do more nail art with charms and gems, hurray for stepping out of my comfort zone a little!

Great post! I love nail charms and have way too many that I don’t know what to do with them all! This is a gorgeous design and you’ve used the charms well.
Thank you!
Wow, I really love the balance in this mani. Gorgeous. One question–what did you do with your thumb? I’m never quite sure what to do with my thumb on manis like this…<3
Thank you! In this case, I did the glitter on my thumb as well. I personally love having two accents with three simpler nails, so I do that most of the time.
Adorable nail art and review. I need to check out this shop sometime!
such a pretty mani
These are super cute and loved what you did with them x
I *adore* this mani – it is so gorgeous!!

This mani is perfection! And that is coming from someone who dislikes the beach.
