Quick Swatch and Review: Picture Polish – Demeter

Once upon a time, there was a nail polish addict desperately searching for a dark chocolate brown polish with holographic glitter in it. Seriously, it doesn’t sound that difficult right? However, I had a really hard time finding anything that was as dark as I wanted. I finally happened upon a swatch of Picture Polish – Demeter and I knew it had to be mine! Then I saw the price tag and was like, okay, maybe later! I added it to my wish list every once in a while I would go look at swatches and try to justify spending the money.

Luckily for me, I have great nail friends! I participated in a nail polish swap and a bottle of the gorgeous and sinfully delish looking Demeter was one of the polishes that arrived on my doorstep.  The color of this polish is gorgeous! It is very deep and rich – unlike many browns I have encountered that tend to be either so dark that they are almost black or way too light. It is chock full of scattered holographic micro-glitter. The formula was on the thick side, but it was easy to paint onto my nails and was opaque in two coats.

Seriously, this is like having rich, dark chocolate poured on my nails. All those flecks you see in the color? That is all holographic! I love the tagline of the polish too, “for all the down to earth goddesses” LOL! Sign me up!

Sadly, we’ve had nothing but clouds for days and days and I was never able to get a sun shot. Here is a macro, though:

This polish is seriously sparklicious in direct light! It’s gorgeous even without the holo blinging, of course, but the mix of sinful chocolate and holographic is stunning!

If you love browns, I consider this a must-have polish if you can justify the price tag. Otherwise, add it to a wish list and maybe some nail polish fairy will make sure you get it – it is so worth it!
