Our prompt for day 10 is Leaves of Fall – right up my alley! I went with softer shades of color for this, because I wanted it to reflect my locale (still green for the most part) and because I love these colors together! Although it is hard to tell in the pictures (its’ a bit more obvious in the first), the base is a subtle green, brown and gold gradient – more obvious in real-life with a bit of holographic shine from the Trustafarian base.

I started with a base color of Butter London – Trustafarian (one of my all-time favorite polishes!) then used a triangle makeup sponge and cut it in half. I applied lines of Goldie Frocks, Because You’re Worth It and Trustafarian and then sponged it on each nail. These are all fairly sheer polishes, so it took about 3 applications for them to pick up the colors to my satisfaction. I almost left them like that, because the gradient was beautiful.
However, I knew I needed to get these done, so I did a multi-color layer of stamped leaves (using orange, green and copper) then went over them with the same stamp, placed differently, in Sonia Kashuk – Chocoholic.
On my pointer finger, I applied striping tape to form a diamond pattern and painted over them with Zoya – Erin, which is a peachy sheer. I love the effect here!
Overall, I think these are a good reflection of the fall leaves in my area. Mostly, everything is still green, but there are a few trees starting to turn.
