Neon Gradient Dotticure

Here is your one thing to know about me for the day: I am not a fan of neon colors. Despite that, I still have a few for obscure reasons. When I saw that Nail It magazine was looking for neon submissions, I gritted my teeth and put this mani together. (LOL)

I started out with one coat of Sinful Colors – Snow Me White on my nails. I wanted to be sure that the neon colors would really pop, especially since it was a gradient where the colors might be a bit watered down. Once my white base was dry, I used a non-latex makeup sponge to apply my gradient in Color Club – East Austin and China Glaze – Float On.

To get this level of opacity, it took me 4 passes with these polishes. I applied a coat of Seche Vite to blend and aid in drying time. Since there was so much polish on my nails, I gave them plenty of time to dry completely before going on to the next step.

Once dry, I used a medium dotting tool and Sinful Colors – Snow Me White to add the dot pattern. After a few minutes for the dots to dry, I applied one last coat of Seche Vite to finish things off.

POLISHES:

  • Essie – Grow Stronger Base Coat
  • Sinful Colors – Snow Me White
  • Color Club – Easy Austin
  • China Glaze – Float On
  • Seche Vite – Dry Fast Top Coat

Even though I am not a fan of the neon colors I used, I was still quite pleased with how these came out. My major regret, however, is that I could not adequately capture the color. They do not look nearly as vibrant as they did in real life. Here is to hoping Nail It magazine features these nails!
