Day 22 of the Nail Art September challenge is here! The prompt for today was asters and I always love doing floral manicures.
So, here we are, first day of fall and my manicure is pastel. Not sure what I was thinking, but these light colors are what came to mind as a backdrop for my paint.
I started off with two coats each of Sinful Colors – Easy Going and Cover Girl – Saltwater Taffy. Both of these polishes are a bit of a fight to apply. The first coat went on very streaky and one too many strokes led to patchy bald spots when I wasn’t careful. With a thick second coat, they were both opaque, however and a coat of Seche Vite evened out the Saltwater Taffy, which was not much of a self-leveling polish. Luckily, the fight is worth it, because the colors are really pretty! Saltwater Taffy is a very pale green and Easy Going is a very pale peachy pink – perfect for an Easter mani in September!
Once my top coat was dry, I started with the paint. I used Reeve’s acrylic paints (I have this set). I used a short liner brush to create all the flowers and used a dotting tool to add small dots of color to the center of the flowers. Once dried, I added one final coat of Seche Vite over the top to protect the design.
For my other nails, I used a dotting tool and a bit of Sinful Colors – Snow Me White to add the dots.

The next #nailartsep challenge prompt is Starbucks – and I have no clue what I am going to do yet. The first step will probably be locating an appropriate green! I’m ready to get back to Fall and Halloween manis!
