Last year, I won 5 bottles of CrowsToes polish and one lovely gem called Bad Catholic. This is an amazing glitter bomb filled with gold, green, purple metallic glitters in various sizes. The colors are absolutely spot on for the costume jewelry and coins you get during the parades of Mardi Gras! This polish has been on my calendar for Fat Tuesday forever and I was ridiculously excited to use it!
I kept the overall many simple, because I mainly just wanted that bling factor. I mean, we are talking about Mardi Gras, right!? I started off painting two coats of Zoya – Logan on all of my nails except my ring finger, which I painted with OPI – Love.Angel.Music.Baby. I topped all of my nails with a thin coat of Seche Vite to aid in drying time.
Once dry, I applied one coat of CrowsToes – Bad Catholic. This polish is so loaded with glitter, that one coat gives amazing coverage. I only had to dab a little bit to get larger glitters exactly where I wanted them to be. What I hadn’t noticed in the bottle was that there are also some nice little holographic glitter in the mix that help with the bling factor. I topped all nails with a final coat of Seche Vite for both shine and to minimize the texture of the glitter on my nails.
I do my nails under a small spotlight and I actually had trouble with cleanup because I kept blinding myself with the amazing sparkle of this polish. #firstworldnailproblems
Here is a macro of this awesome polish on gold:
- Essie – Grow Stronger Base Coat
- Zoya – Logan
- OPI – Love.Angel.Music.Baby
- CrowsToes – bad Catholic
- Seche Vite – Dry Fast Top Coat
I’m really happy with how this mani came out and felt the bling factor was awesome! Sadly, I don’t see myself using this polish much for anything else, so I am sure I will pull it out again for Mardi Gras next year!
