Mani Roundup – Late Summer Variety

I’ve done quite a few manis lately that I haven’t done posts for so I decided to throw them all together in one place. πŸ™‚

Sometimes, I see a color and decide I need to wear it immediately – only to realize I don’t have the color! I saw Yves Saint Laurent had a saffron yellow polish and I totally loved it, but not the price, so I decided to try to franken my own. I didn’t get the exact color I was wanting, but was still pretty happy with the results!

I added some black dots and some black and gold stamping for a look that I totally fell in love with. Even more so after I realized it totally reminded me of the iconic plaid skirt outfit Cher wore in Clueless!

POLISHES:

  • Essie – Grow Stronger Base Coat
  • Franken Saffron Yellow
  • Funky Fingers – Dark Knight
  • Sinful Colors – Gold Medal
  • Seche Vite – Dry Fast Top Coat
  • BP-L 006

One of my #mommysmanimonday prompts recently was reverse orders, where we had to do the manicure we had previously requested of our partners. The orders I receivedΒ were to do a glitter gradient, which I wrote about previously. My orders had been to create a mani based on this pattern I saw on Spoonflower.com:

Here is what I came up with for myself:

OPI - I Sing in Color with dotted floral design
OPI – I Sing in Color with dotted floral design

I painted a base of OPI – I Sing in Color (which ended up being much darker than I had wanted πŸ™ ) and then dotted on some flowers, trying to stay true to the color arrangements and style of the Spoonflower pattern.

POLISHES:

  • Essie – Grow Stronger Base Coat
  • OPI – I Sing in Color
  • Zoya – Rooney
  • Zoya – Arizona
  • China Glaze – X-ta-sea
  • China Glaze – At Vase Value
  • Sally Hansen – White On
  • Sinful Colors – Black on Black
  • Seche Vite – Dry Fast Top Coat
  • NYC – Matte Me Crazy Top Coat

I’ve mentioned before that I am a really big fan of Sonia Kashuk polishes – and I was really excited to find this amazing nude polish in the Target clearance section!

This polish went on smoothly and easily and was a really good color for my natural skin tone. I added some fall leaf stamping using a couple of Revlon metallic polishes.

POLISHES:

  • Essie – Grow Stronger Base Coat
  • Sonia Kashuk – In the Flesh
  • Revlon – Enrapture
  • Revlon – Captivate
  • Seche Vite – Dry Fast Top Coat
  • BM-XL 13

I finally had some limited success with advanced stamping! Normally, I tend to end up with a smeary mess, but this came out perfect:

I created the image from a Born Pretty plate and then painted in my color and applied the stamp onto a white background for the result above. I added coordinating dots to the rest of my nails.

POLISHES:

  • Essie – Grow Stronger Base Coat
  • Zoya – Wendy
  • Sally Hansen – Teeny Bikini
  • Sally Hansen – White On
  • Funky Fingers – Dark Knight
  • Seche Vite – Dry Fast Top Coat
  • BP-L 027

I really liked how all of these designs came out, but the yellow plaid nails were my favorite. Let me know which ones were your favorite! πŸ™‚

They’re all so pretty. I think my favorite is the leaves, I love elegant fall manicures and this one is perfect!

Wow! Every one of these is stunning! I wish my hands were steady enough to do intricate dots light that.

All four are really pretty but the Spoonflower one is definitely my favorite. The advanced stamping manicure is a close second though!
