As you may know, creme polishes are my first love. I’m a bit obsessed with metallics right now, but cremes are still what I reach for a majority of the time when I am planning to do nail art. I was really excited when my swatch package arrived from indy brand Make Me Cosmetics Collections, because it was filled with gorgeously vivid creme polishes! The whole collection is striking and I can’t wait to show you!
Make Me Collection Cosmetics is based out of Chicago, Illinois and offers 5-free, cruelty free products. The polishes come in square, 15mL bottles, which I really like. I feel like the brush can get to more of the product, plus they will fit nicely in my storage, where space is tight.
The first five polishes I will be covering are the neutrals and yellows. All swatches are shown topped with Seche Vite:
Darkness Fall is a sleek, black creme. This one is highly pigmented and I probably could have gotten away with using only one coat, but I used two. The formula on this was on the thinner side and was very easy to use. Shown topped with Seche Vite.
Sweet Cotton is a bright white creme. The first coat went on a bit streaky, but the second coat leveled out nicely. Shown topped with Seche Vite.
Butt Naked is an absolutely gorgeous nude shade. Although it does have a shimmery frost to it, that doesn’t translate to the nail very strongly – but I still love the color and the formula was excellent. Shown topped with Seche Vite.
Sillent Affect is a buttery yellow that is filled with iridescent micro-flakies that provide a hint of pinky-peach sparkle, especially in direct light. This is such a perfect Spring color! The formula was a little thick and a bit sheer so I ended up using three coats to get the opacity I wanted.
Beautiful Day is a super-bright yellow creme. It is intensely pigmented and I absolutely adore it. I can totally see myself using this a ton for nail art, the color is just perfect. The formula was quite good for a yellow as well. Shown here is two fairly easy to apply coats.
So there are the first five from the collection! Let me know which ones you like best – I am saving my favorites for the last review, so stay tuned!
You can purchase these products and others at the Make Me Cosmetics Collection website and they retail for $5.00 ea.
