It’s been a long time coming for an update and it’s a post I meant to do weeks ago. I strained my right wrist at the end of October that put a moratorium on general activities like typing, cleaning and worst of all, nail-related activities. I’m completely mended now, thankfully, so I want to start off with playing catch-up – I know most people are ready to be over Halloween, so bear with me 🙂
I have five manis to go through, so excuse my rather brief descriptions! If you have any questions about any of these, just let me know in the comments!
First off is a simple stamped jack o’ lantern mani:

I started off this mani by painting on my base coats using Sally Hansen Satin Glam polishes Sun Sheen and Silk Onyx. These polishes dry to a satiny finish, so for smoother stamping, I applied a topcoat first. Once that was dry, I stamped with Funky Fingers – Dark Night and M Polish – Hottie using the Cici & Sisi Halloween 2014 plate. I applied one more coat of Seche Vite to finish the mani.

POLISHES:
- Essie – Grow Stronger Base Coat
- Sally Hansen – Sun Sheen
- Sally Hansen – Silk Onyx
- M Polish – Hottie
- Funky Fingers – Dark Knight
- Seche Vite – Dry Fast Top Coat
- Cici & Sisi Special Edition Halloween 2014
I created this next mani for the clairestelle Halloween challenge bones prompt:

I started off by painting all of my nails with 3 coats of Sephora by OPI – I Think I Cayenne. I topped the pointer and pinky nails with China Glaze – Razzle Me, Dazzle Me. I used M Polish – I Â Need a Vacation to dry brush some red onto me middle and ring nails and then stamped them with Funky Fingers – Dark Knight using Born Pretty Store plate BP-L 006. I topped everything with a coat of Seche Vite and then, once that was dry, added a coat of NYC – Matte Me Crazy.

POLISHES:
- Essie – Grow Stronger Base Coat
- Sephora by OPI – I Think I Cayenne
- China Glaze – Razzle Me, Dazzle Me,
- M Polish – I Need a Vacation
- Funky Fingers – Dark Knight
- Seche Vite – Dry Fast Top Coat
- NYC – Matte Me Crazy

Next up is a mani I did for the @pushyourmani October prompt “Purple” – I was in a rush, so I kept it really simple. My base was an untried polish and I just love it!

I painted all of my nails with Covergirl – Grapevine – this is an awesome polish. It has a great formula and is a lovely metallic look without being brush-strokey! I gave it a few minutes to dry and stamped over it with Funky Fingers – Dark Knight using the Cici & Sisi Halloween 2014 plate. I topped it with a coat of Seche Vite.

- Essie – Grow Stronger Base Coat
- Covergirl – Grapevine
- Funky Fingers – Dark Knight
- Seche Vite – Dry Fast Top Coat
- Cici & Sisi Special Edition Halloween 2014
This mani is my absolute favorite one from this Halloween season. I had ordered the charm months and months ago and was really excited to use it!

I began the mani by painting all of my nails with one coat of China Glaze – Ruby Pumps. I gave it a few minutes to set and then used a non-latex makeup sponge to create the gradient using Ruby Pumps and Funky Fingers – Dark Knight. It two passes on each nail to get the gradiation I wanted. I waited about 10 minutes and then stamped on top of each nail with Funky Fingers – Dark Knight using Born Pretty Store plate BP-L 016. I coated all of my nails with Seche Vite and allowed them to dry completely. On my ring finger, I used Essie – No Place like Chrome and stamped a spiderweb using Bundle Monster plate BM-XL28, topcoated, and quickly placed the spider charm. Love, LOVE how these came out!

Last, but not least, this is the last mani I did before Halloween. I’ve done this kind of chevron tip before and I think it translated pretty well to Halloween colors!

I started out by painting all of my nails with two coats of Sally Hansen – Sun Kissed. I applied a coat of Seche Vite and allowed my nails time to dry completely since I was using vinyls. I applied one vinyl to each nail and then painted the tip with Sinful Colors – Black on Black. For my pointer finger, I painted the whole nail black as an accent. I toped with Seche Vite to complete the mani.

- Essie – Grow Stronger Base Coat
- Sally Hansen – Sun Kissed
- Sinful Colors – Black on Black
- Seche Vite – Dry Fast Top Coat
Notice a trend? I did a lot more stamping this year. Last year I was all about the free-hand, but I kept finding myself short on time, so I would resort to stamping. Overall, I am happy with most of the art I did for October, but the gothic red and black spider mani is my absolute favorite!
Let me know which one you like best!
I love all your Halloween manis!! I hope your wrist is better.
