I had all of these plans for blog entries to cap off 2015. Of course, I managed to catch a pestilence that laid me low the day after Christmas (small favors that it held off that long I guess!) So all my plans were for naught and I am late getting this post written. I still think this is relevant information, however, so read on to find out what products I fell in love with this year!
Fist off, I want to talk polishes. I had a ton of favorites and it was hard to pare these down, but these were the standouts for me:
MDJ Creations – Fire By Night

I reviewed this incredible polish in June. Filled with magic, this topper polish is a coppery holographic filled with larger red and gold glitters. It looks amazing layered over other polishes but also builds up to a fiery finish that almost seems to glow from within! I cannot remember how much I paid for this polish, and her store is on vacation, but it seems like it was probably around $10.00.

Color Club – Barely There

Barely There was part of Color Club Shift Into Neutral Collection released in Spring 2015. I reviewed the entire line in June and was really impressed by the set. The stand out, for me, was this skin-toned crelly beauty. This is my mannequin hand shade and I cannot get enough of wearing it with and without art. This polish retails for $8.50 from the Color Club website.

Butter London – Peep Hole

Peep Hole was released as part of the Winter 2015 Invitation Only line which I reviewed in October. It’s an amazing metallic turquoise blue with frosty undertones and a fantastic formula. My only complaint is that it was only available as a mini! Mid-way through the year my desire to wear creme polishes waned and gave way to my desire to wear metallic polishes and this color embodies everything I love about that type of finish. This particular set is still available on Butter London’s website for a discounted price of $28.00.

M Polish – Stamping Polishes

M Polish opened shop this year and has since released an absolutely stunning array of stamping polishes. I reviewed several polishes from the initial Spring line back in February and have since continued to collect and be impressed with the offerings and used them in a ton of my manicures. Most recently, I have been loving the holographic stamping polishes! M Polish retails for $4.25 for minis (and if you are only using them for stamping, these go a really long way) and $10.50 for full sized bottles.

Obviously I love polish – but I also hand and nail care products as well! My last two 2015 loves fall into that category.
Rituals Ginkgo’s Secret Caring Hand Balm

This amazing lotion came to my attention through my Allure Beauty Box subscription. It has a very fresh and clean floral scent that isn’t at all overpowering. I love how well this works with my dry skin and just a little goes a long way. Usually at this point in winter my hands are super dry and my right hand has cracking from getting so dry – no matter what moisturizing I do. This year, on the other hand, my skin is in amazing shape with no cracking or chapping. I cannot say enough good things about this balm! The retail on this varies between about $15.00 – $17.00 for 2.5 fl oz.
Message Beauty Acetone Tonic

I doubt it comes as any surprise, but I go through a ton of acetone. I used to use Target’s Up & Up non-acetone polish remover to take off my polish because it was less drying to my skin, but it took forever to take off the polish, worked badly on anything larger than micro-glitter and smelled terrible. Luckily Message Beauty has saved me! Now I can use acetone to quickly remove polish without having to worry about the drying. Acetone Tonic’s are tiny bottles of scented magic that can be added to 8 oz. of acetone to reduce the drying effect acetone normally has. They come in a variety of fragrances to suit just about any fancy! So far, I have tried lemon and freesia. My next two (because I have backups lined up for when I run out) are Cucumber Melon and Sweet Almond. They retail for $4.00/piece or 3/$10.00.
There you have it! I’d like to give an honorable mention to ILNP – Sirene, which was new to me, but not a new product, so I didn’t include it in the above list.
I hope you have a happy 2016 and let me know in the comments some of your favorites from 2015!
