The 4th has come and gone already and I am just now posting about this mani, yikes! I’ll get right to it then!
It’s kind of awesome to go into a mani with a basic design in mind and have it warp into something cooler and more detailed than you intended! That is the case with this mani. I started out just intending to do some random dry brushing, but it ended up looking like flowers on my first nail so I altered my plan and went with that.
The BHB Thursday challenge last week was multi-colored stamping. I haven’t used this technique much, but I have seen so many lovely manis using it that I couldn’t pass up giving it a try!
Here is your one thing to know about me for the day: I am not a fan of neon colors. Despite that, I still have a few for obscure reasons. When I saw that Nail It magazine was looking for neon submissions, I gritted my teeth and put this mani together. (LOL)
Sometimes I have a bit of a roadblock about what kind of nail art to do over non-creme polishes. I tend to want to leave them as-is to not hide how pretty they are. I’m always pretty proud of myself when I do some art and end up really happy with it!
My theme this week for my Mommy’s mani group was Floral – aside from dots, one of my very favorite things to do. I took the opportunity to get some freehand practice in. I was originally planning a springy theme, but when everything came together and I had picked my colors, it was decidedly summery looking.
I posted about Big Smoke on its’ own inmy previous post. I wore it for a day without any embellishment, because I didn’t really know what I wanted to do with it. Then I saw a mani by @dancerspolishedlife using an anchor cutout and remembered I had some anchor vinyls! Blue always lends itself well to nautical nails, so I went with it!
Is it Spring yet? Close enough as far as I am concerned. I am really sick of gloomy days and needed a mani to help counteract the drearies. Somehow they ended up looking like Summer nails, like I need to go to the beach or the pool!
