Halloween Mani Roundup #2

Red and black stamped gradient with spider charm

It’s been a long time coming for an update and it’s a post I meant to do weeks ago. I strained my right wrist at the end of October that put a moratorium on general activities like typing, cleaning and worst of all, nail-related activities. I’m completely mended now, thankfully, so I want to start off with playing catch-up – I know most people are ready to be over Halloween, so bear with me 🙂

Mani Madness – Halloween Nail Design Round-up #1

Fall Dotticure featuring OPI - It's a Piazza Cake

That is correct, this is round up 1 of probably 2-3 because I plan on continuing to do a ton of Halloween and fall-themed nail designs for October. I’m following three different challenges and while I probably will not get all of those prompts done, it gives me a lot of options to choose from.

Sinful Colors – Halloween 2015 Nail Polish Swatch and Review

Sinful Colors Halloween 2015

I’d been keeping a lookout for the new Sinful Colors Halloween offerings for a couple of weeks and finally found these at a local Walgreens. As far as I know, these are all new polishes (with the exception of Glow In the Dark, which they re-release ever year). Keep reading to see all my swatches and review for these fun Halloween offerings!

#npclairestelle8 and #BHBspooktober Day 31: Favorite Thing About Halloween and Pumpkins

Stylized Pumkin Manicure

I’m a bit delayed in getting this post up, but it’s been a busy weekend! This was my last challenge manicure for October and I did double duty once again. I skipped one prompt from each of the challenges I was working , so not completed, but I am happy with what I did! In total, between challenges, palette cleansers and a few swatches, I did 28 manis this month! I also learned a valuable lesson about taking on too many challenges, as it left me very little time to work on many manicures that were just for me.

Without further ado, here is the last one:

#npclairestelle8 Day 29: Haunted House Nails

#npclairestelle8: Day 29 Haunted House Mani

Day 29 finally! Only one more to go after this one! This was a really fun mani to do because (dun dun!) I finally went ahead and trimmed off another portion of bristles from the striping brush I have been attempting to do details with. What a huge difference it made! I was finally able to get some really fine lines done, which totally came in handy for this!

#BHBSpooktober Day 27: Spider Web nails

#BHBSpooktober Spiderweb nails

I’m at it again with the spider web nails. I wasn’t quite sure where I wanted to go with this mani when I started thinking about it yesterday, but I happened to be checking out blogs and saw a lovely manicure with black roses by Chalkboard Nails and thought that black roses would make a really awesome addition to a web mani.

#npclairestelle8 Day 26: Zombie nails

Zombie nails!

Ah zombies! One of my favorite things! How fortuitous (also) that this challenge landed on a Sunday, which just happens to be a Walking Dead night. Perfect! I’ve seen a lot of different interpretations, like amazing torn-up zombie fingernails which I am in awe of, but I chose to make my nails a gnarly zombie colored tone and have a zombie caricature on one of my nails.

#npclairestelle8 Day 22: Creepy Carnival Mani

Creepy Clown Manicure

I struggled a bit with this manicure. I wasn’t really feeling the theme and was at a bit of a loss as to what to do. Enter Google, my savior! I found a picture of a sideshow poster that used orange and purple as a backdrop, which sounded perfect to me. Then I happened to see a pumpkin carved with a scary clown face and suddenly this mani came together.

#BHBSpooktober Batty Full Moon Gradient

Full Moon Gradient with Stamped Bats

The prompt for Day 20 was Full Moon/Bats and yes, another gradient lol (I’ve been doing a lot of gradients recently) I really wanted to do a different, sinister take on this theme and decided to go with a much different color scheme. Black and red always remind me of vampires and since I already knew that I wanted to use a moon and bat stamp for this, the colors, with a bit of orange at the top, were just what I wanted to create an ominous moon-lit vampire night.
