On and off, you can find a couple of different Butter London polished sold as Add On items for $3.00/bottle, which is a pretty tremendous price. One of these that I grabbed recently was Butter London – Two Fingered Salute. It’s a really unusual color! It’s a dusty green color with lots of copper shimmer embedded in it. It reminds me of weathered copper!
Anyway, I decided I needed that kind of unusual color in my polish collection. When I finally wore it, however, there was something about it that I just wasn’t a huge fan of. I think maybe the color itself just isn’t great with my skin tone or something. I was going to post up just swatches of the polish itself, but how it looked was bothering me so much I decided I needed to do something else with it. So I stamped it in more copper! The stamping made all the difference in the world.
I stamped a rose on my ring finger with Cici & Sisi 23 and a quatrefoil pattern from BP – L 003 on all of my other fingers. Here is a close-up of the ring finger stamp where you can make out more of the copper in the polish itself:
- Essie – Grow Stronger Base Coat
- Butter London – Two Fingered Salute
- Sally Hansen – Copperhead
- Seche Vite – Dry Fast Top Coat
- cici & Sisi 23
- BP – L 003
While I am not a big fan of this polish on its’ own, I can see a lot of potential in using this as a great base for different nail art techniques. I’m thinking dry brushing, maybe a clear watermarble and most certainly stamping.
