I’m back today to review more product from Born Pretty Store! Today I am showing off some floral water slide decals – I really cannot say enough good things about both how easy these are to use and how much I like using them for quickie nail art!
Check out this floral variety:
I love this pack because it comes with 4 different styles of decals. Aren’t they pretty? 🙂 I chose the bottom left pattern to do a mani – largely because I had a perfect matching polish for the pink.
I painted two coats of Zoya – Rooney on my index and pinkie nails and one coat of Sally Hansen – White On for the rest of my nails. Although White On is streaky at one coat, it was plenty of coverage since they were going to be covered by the decals. I added dots to my index nail with a dotting tool and added a heart to my pinkie nail (yes, this is a Valentine mani!) using my dotting tool and a small decal brush. Once those were done, the white nails were dry enough to apply the decals.
The decals are pre-sized and I found them to be plenty wide enough for my nails (even my thumb). I cut out the ones I needed and removed the clear plastic film. Doing one nail at a time, I soaked the decals in water for 20 seconds, removed them from the cardboard backing and applied to my nails. I like to topcoat these before I do my cleanup so that I don’t accidentally swipe any of the pattern off of my nails.
All nails got a coat of Seche Vite to give them some shine and seal in the art.
I love how these came out and think they work well for Valentines day! Water slide decals of any pattern are super easy to use and gives even a novice nail artist the ability to add detailed are to their nails, which is a huge plus. The film they are printed on is really thin, so it smooths down much nicer and neater than stickers do, even on very curved nails (I know this from experience 🙂 ).
