Binary Nails – Embracing the Nerd Side

I am a nerd in many ways and I generally embrace it! However, my nerd-dom isn’t often reflected in my nail design choices. However, having my nails so short gave me a great opportunity!

I ordered a round plate from Bundle Monster last year that has nerdiness for steampunk, computers and gaming, but I hadn’t had a chance to use it because the images on the plate are so small that I haven’t been able to use them. They just happen to be the perfect size for my little nubs right now!

I started off with one coat of Color Club – Beyond, a holographic black. I cannot remember if I have mentioned it before, but I love, LOVE the Color Club holographic polishes. They are simply fabulous. Huge holo payoff and generally one coat for full opacity. They are worth every penny. Since I only had to put one coat, I just waited a couple of minutes for it to dry before stamping.

I chose the binary stamp from Bundle Monster – 415 for this. I thought a kind of Matrix-y look would be perfect and the luminescent quality of M Polish – Bells of Ireland was perfect to give the numbers a bit of a glow. I topped everything off with one coat of Seche Vite.

POLISHES:

  • Essie – Grow Stronger Base Coat
  • Color Club – Beyond
  • M Polish – Bells of Ireland
  • Seche Vite – Dry Fast Top Coat
  • Bundle Monster – 415

I love how these turned out though I think using a more pure black would cause the numbers to pop even more. I was very glad to be able to use the Bundle Monster plate – and even more excited that they announced XL version of their older images. I have to admit, I went ahead and pulled the trigger on all 3 sets of the XL plates so you can expect some stamping reviews in-coming!
