I’m at it again with the spider web nails. I wasn’t quite sure where I wanted to go with this mani when I started thinking about it yesterday, but I happened to be checking out blogs and saw a lovely manicure with black roses by Chalkboard Nails and thought that black roses would make a really awesome addition to a web mani.

For my base color, I chose the appropriately named “Cool Gray” by Sinful Colors. I really love this polish! It is almost opaque in one coat and has one of the better formulas of Sinful Colors creme polishes. Once the gray was dry, I stamped spider webs in white on all of my nails.
The black roses were done with Zoya – Claudine. I wanted black, but not true black as I wanted to be able to go back and add some details in a more pure black color. I used Cool Gray and another Sinful Colors gray called “Jungle Trail” for the details on the flowers. The leaves were done with Butter London – Dosh. I need to get another striping brush and trim almost all of the bristles off. It was really hard to get the roses looking halfway decent because despite my best efforts, the accent lines for the roses were just too thick.
The spider ended up looking almost exactly as misshapen as its’ cousin from a previous manicure. Guess this is my spider style! I made it a black widow for the punch of color.

Overall, I am really happy with how these turned out. They are a bit spooky without being overwhelmingly Halloween (which is fine by me. I am just about Halloween-ed out manicure wise).
